The German premium carmaker will launch the next generation
VW Polo hatchback, which will be based on Volkswagen’s MQB-AO IN platform. The
company is aiming to localise this platform in India to introduce several of
its global cars. The new model is longer, wider and more spacious than the
previous model. VW has already unveiled the new Polo in the European markets.
It continues to feature VW’s evolutionary styling with sharp body creases, large
stance, chiselled sides and modish cues. The cabin of the SUV features a high
placed touchscreen, virtual cockpit digital instrument display from Audi TT,
etc. It will be powered by a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. Transmission
options will include a 5-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG automatic unit.
